We as church, recreation committee, and a staff believe that God is interested in the whole person. The Apostle Paul said this…
I have become all things to all men

I do this for the sake of the gospel

that I might share in its blessings.

1 Corinthians 9:22-23.
Dalton First has supported recreation, sports, and activities for the sake of the gospel. The Leisure and Recreational Ministry of Dalton First is here to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ whether it be through the spiritual, physical, social or mental part of the a person. Come join us and see what God is doing in this ministry. There are recreational and fellowship activities offered to each member as well as the community.

Our Church League Basketball program (Nov – Feb & Mar – May) offers boys and girls 8yrs through seniors in high school the opportunity to play competitively and hear the gospel at half time of each game. The program averages nearly 400 participants a year.

Fitness Classes

Our Fitness instructor is Caren Sikes (ACE/AFAA/ACSM Certified). Caren loves the Lord and He is first in her program. “May our Lord Jesus Christ, Himself, encourage you and strengthen you in all the good things that you say and do.”
2 Thessalonians 2:16

The Shuffle Board Club (over 25 members) was started by Mr. and Mrs. H. Sewell. The older adults play each Tuesday from 1-3 pm. It is fun competition. The players travel each to participate in the Golden Olympics. They not only compete in Shuffle Board but also play golf, track and field events, checkers, badminton, and many other events offered at the State Games.

Summer Camps

Camp Joy (K-5th) Adventure Camp (6th – 8th)
Our camps are designed to provide a safe, fun space for kids, and provide a loving and action packed atmosphere designed to encourage each camper physically, socially, and spiritually. Our qualified staff look forward to welcoming and embracing every child as we teach them the principles of the Word of God and let them know just how much God loves them.

Pickleball is a paddle sport played with a whiffle ball on a badminton-sized court and a tennis-style net. A non-volley zone (or kitchen) prevents volleys close to the net, and the serving team cannot volley the return of serve. These unique rules favor players with less mobility and allow senior players to compete successfully with younger competitors. They meet on Mondays at 6:30pm in the gym.
