Planning a funeral or a memorial service
Most funerals are held between 48 and 72 hours after a death.
Often a memorial service will occur after a private graveside service or inurnment in the columbarium.
Memorial services can be planned at the family's discretion.
Out of respect for the family, services are usually scheduled outside preschool hours to avoid heavy traffic and lack of parking.
If the service is at the church, the following will be provided:
A. Ushers (not pall bearers)
B. The Pall (cover for casket) if desired
C. Printed Program (if requested)
The family is responsible for:
A. Selection of music for service
B. Selection of scripture for service
C. Family member or friend to speak if desired
D. Pall Bearers
We are here for you
The church, through the
Bereavement Committee, also
provides your choice of:
A. Meal to your home
(for up to 40 people).
B. Meal for the family
(again up to 40 people)
at the Church
C. Reception consisting of
punch and cookies at
the Church.
(A member of the bereavement
committee will contact you to
make these arrangements)
