Jim Phillips and Peter Infanger lead this class in a format that is mostly
discussion. The class uses the Adult Bible Study lesson series. There are

Mitch Land leads the class discussion with lessons that are practical and totally Bible based.
The class meets for breakfast on the second Sunday of each month.

Bo Thompson - room #241 / Age: 45 - 65
Using the Upper Room Tuesday scripture, Bo Thompson leads this class in lecture style.
The class meets each week for "meet and greet" at 9:45 with coffee and refreshments and
the formal lesson begins promptly at 10:00. The class also meets in Foyer groups quarterly
(group makeup is rotated); attend ACT plays after going to dinner; yearly party in the
Spring/Summer. This class is also involved in the organization of the annual
White Christmas Packing Party and Bicycle Ministry.

This class mostly consists of married couples with children. Persons from outside the class
are recruited to teach on a quarterly basis

This class meets weekly and is led by current college students who are at home or attending
Dalton State College.

Discovery - room #233 / Age: 30's and 40's
This group of young adults - mostly parents - tries to focus study on spiritual growth as
individuals, couples, and parents. The class uses DVD based studies that include videos
and discussion questions. The class strives to make sure that they are living their crazy,
hectic daily lives with God as their strength and focus.

Faith, Family, and Friends - room #329 / Age: 35 - 45 +/-
This group of married couples follows a discussion format led by Louis Fordham and uses a
variety of curriculum including traditional adult Sunday School lesson books, Cokesbury
weekly lessons and book reviews with emphasis on reviewing and growing our faith and
living as Christians.
The class has three to five social events each year including a Christmas party, Lookouts
game, dinners and swimming parties.
Fellowship - room #245 / Age: 70 and up
Taught in a lecture format by Robert Vining, the members of this class are
mostly retired. Each class session includes a time for singing old-time favorite hymns
from the Cokesbury Hymnal. The class has numerous social
get-togethers throughout the year and supports DOC-UP with a monthly offering and
delivering for Meals-On-Wheels.

This discussion class is led by a variety of teachers who are members of the class. Using
mostly United Methodist literature, the group sits in a circle and shares personal thoughts
about the topic.

Willie McGaughey - room #230 / Age: 60 and up
This class uses the Adult Bible Study series and is taught by various members of the class.
The group supports the American Cancer Society and organizes our church's participation
in the annual Walk for Life.

Olivia Gaines - room #221 / Age: 70 and up
The ladies class of the church, this group follows a lecture style format
using the Adult Bible Series. The voice of the teacher is amplified so as to be clearly heard.

S.O.S. - room #224 / Age: 60 and up
This group uses a discussion format and is led by a variety of teachers who
are members of the class. The class usually begins with a social time followed by the lesson
and discussion of teaching points related to commentary and current events.

Susan Thomas - room #244 / Age: 50s
The lecture/discussion format of this class follows the curriculum outlined by our senior
pastor Joe Peabody that takes the group through the Old and New Testaments in a four year
cycle. The class has four social events each year including an annual weekend retreat at
Sopelo Island. This class also helps a family at Christmas and makes regular monthly
donations to support two missionaries.

This class is comprised of couples, most with college-age children. Taught by Deck Cheatham
in a lecture/discussion format the group uses a variety of resources for material. This group
meets for social get-togethers at various times during the year.

20s/30s Class - room #227 / Age: 20s and 30s
This class is comprised of persons in their 20s and 30s who are single or married, with
children or childless, seeking a relationship or already committed to someone. The class
discussions will be led by Tony and Mary Carlson and will focus on topics important to
young adults in all stages of life.
