D.A.P 2018

July 13th-18th

DAP is a student led, adult supported mission program. The Dalton Area Project (DAP) began in 2013 when a group of students and supervising adults made it their mission to help serve others. Since their beginning, DAP has helped over 70 deserving families. Repairs are made to homes and projects are varied, depending on the need. In 2017, 260 students and 400 plus adults from seven churches helped to transform 15 homes. Their motto is “Loving one neighbor at a time with your help.” The DAP religious based group of students and supervising adults handle about ten plus projects (houses) each year, depending on donations received. These volunteer projects include renovation to homes such as: replace carpet, floors, build ramps, paint, work on plumbing, etc. They do have to limit the area served to Whitfield and Murray County. The Dalton Area Project partners with churches and Habitat for Humanity who offer professional help in determining need and availability. There is no cost to the home owner. Recipients have to allow access to the home during certain hours of the day for work to be completed.
